Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-03

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FXOptimize ("the Service"), operated by Frederik Baunsøe ("we", "us", "our"), a private individual based in Denmark. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

FXOptimize is a portfolio optimization tool for forex traders. It allows you to upload MT4/MT5 backtest HTML files, analyze Expert Advisor (EA) performance, simulate portfolio combinations, and optimize allocation across multiple EAs. The Service also includes Pass Lab, a propfirm-challenge pass-probability calculator that runs walk-forward Monte Carlo simulation × bootstrap confidence-interval analysis against a hardcoded catalog of major propfirms (FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips, The5ers, FXIFY, The Funded Trader, Goat Funded Trader). Pass Lab returns a Verdict — the report containing the pass-probability, classification (NoneViable / Promising / Strong), and primary firm match.

Your raw backtest files stay in your browser. They are parsed and processed entirely client-side. The same applies to Pass Lab — all simulation runs locally in WebAssembly. After each analysis, your browser sends us aggregated, anonymous portfolio metrics (e.g. EA names, return %, drawdown, Verdict outcomes) so we can improve the service. We never see your individual trades, prices, lot sizes, account number, or broker details. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Solo and Studio users may also opt into the Synchronization feature, which provides read-only synchronization of MT4/MT5 broker account trade history for portfolio drift analysis. Sync is geographically restricted (not available to EEA/UK residents) — see §8b below for full terms.

2. Account Terms

3. Free, Solo, Studio, and Lifetime Founder Plans

FXOptimize offers a Free plan with limited features, a Solo plan with full access to advanced optimization, portfolio intelligence, and saved sessions, and an Studio plan with additional propfirm and white-label capabilities.

4. Payment Terms

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

6. Intellectual Property

The FXOptimize application, including its code, algorithms, design, and content, is proprietary and owned by Frederik Baunsøe / SteadyFlowFX. All rights reserved.

Your data is yours. You retain full ownership of your backtest files and any data you provide. We claim no ownership over your trading data or analysis results.

7. Data & Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on what data we collect, the legal bases for processing, our sub-processors, retention periods, and your GDPR rights.

Key points: Your raw backtest files never leave your browser. All parsing and simulation runs client-side. Our servers store your account information (via Supabase), saved sessions (if you opt in), payment metadata (via Stripe), and aggregated, anonymous portfolio metrics generated post-analysis.

8. No Financial Advice — Important Disclaimer

FXOptimize is an analytical tool only. It does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or trading signals.

Past performance does not guarantee future results. Backtest results are hypothetical and based on historical data. Real trading involves significant risk, including the risk of losing your entire investment.

Any portfolio suggestions, optimization scores, or performance projections generated by the Service are for informational and educational purposes only. They should not be interpreted as recommendations to trade, invest, or allocate capital in any particular way.

You trade entirely at your own risk. Frederik Baunsøe, SteadyFlowFX, and FXOptimize are not liable for any trading losses, financial damages, or investment decisions made based on information provided by the Service.

Always conduct your own due diligence and consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.

8a. Pass Lab — Propfirm Pass-Probability Disclaimer

The Pass Lab module estimates the probability that a portfolio of EAs would pass a specific propfirm challenge under simulated walk-forward windowing of historical trades. The output (point estimate + 95% confidence interval + recommended firm) is a statistical projection of historical performance, not a guarantee.

By using Pass Lab, you accept that the pass-probability output is a tool for relative comparison between propfirms, not an absolute prediction. Subscribing to a propfirm challenge based on Verdict output is your decision and at your own financial risk.

8b. Synchronization — Restrictions and Disclaimers

The Synchronization feature ("Sync") allows authenticated Solo and Studio users to connect a MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 broker account for read-only synchronization of trade history. This section governs your use of Sync and applies in addition to the general Terms above.

Residency restriction

Sync is not offered to residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom while we complete our compliance review under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for credential-storage processing. Before connecting a broker account, you must affirm by self-attestation that you are not an EEA/UK resident.

By using the Sync feature, you represent and warrant that:

The remainder of FXOptimize (backtest analysis, Pass Lab, the main analyzer flow) is fully available to EU/UK users — only the Sync feature is restricted. The restriction is feature- specific, not Service-wide.

Read-only access — disclaim of trading or fund-movement capability

Sync uses your broker's investor (read-only) password. This password, by design, does not grant the ability to:

If you provide us with a trading password (rather than an investor password) by mistake, we are still structurally limited to read-only operations on the data flows we control, but we strongly recommend you immediately replace any trading password you may have shared and re-connect with a freshly generated investor password.

Data accuracy disclaimer

Sync displays data as reported by your broker's MetaTrader server. We do not independently verify the accuracy of broker-reported figures. Specifically:

For tax, regulatory, or dispute purposes, your broker's official account statement is authoritative — not our Service.

Sync availability and reliability

We make reasonable efforts to maintain a 5-minute sync cadence, but this is a best-effort target, not a guarantee. Sync failures may occur due to:

Sync downtime does not entitle you to a refund or service credit. Solo and Studio billing continues regardless of sync availability for any individual broker account.

No financial advice; no rule-violation alerts

Sync is a data-display feature. It does not, and is not intended to, provide:

You remain solely responsible for monitoring your own trading activity against your broker's and propfirm's rules. The drift detection feature compares your live performance to a backtest baseline you previously uploaded — it is statistical retrospect, not forward-looking guidance.

Disconnection and data deletion

You may disconnect any broker account at any time via the Settings tab. Disconnection triggers immediate hard deletion of:

This deletion is permanent and not recoverable. The self- attestation audit-trail timestamp may be retained for up to 7 years per the Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though we will retain data as described in our Privacy Policy (including a 90-day grace period for account data and the statutory 5-year retention of payment records).

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark, with the exception of mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence within the EU/EEA, which continue to apply. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Denmark, subject to mandatory rules of jurisdiction in favour of consumers. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
